Anabolic steroids such as Stanozolol are synthetic derivatives of the male hormone testosterone. Stanozolol has a pronounced anabolic effect with fewer masculinizing side effects than testosterone and some other synthetic anabolic steroids. Stanozolol has been used with some success in treated venous insufficiency. It stimulates blood fibrinolysis and has been evaluated for the treatment of the more advanced skin changes in venous disease such as lipodermatosclerosis. Several randomized trials noted improvement in the area of lipodermatosclerosis, reduced skin thickness, and possibly faster ulcer healing rates with stanozolol. It has also been used to successfully treat hereditary angioedema.
Indications
Appetite stimulation, increased muscle mass, increased bone density, increased red blood cells.
Dosage and administration
Adults: The response of individuals to anabolic steroids varies.The daily adult dosage is 2.5 to 20 mg given in 2 to 40 divided doses. The desired response may beachieved with as little as 2.5 mg or as much as 20 mg dally. A course of therapy of 2 to 4 weeks is usually adequate. This may be repeated intermittenly as indicated.
Side effects
In rare cases it is possible to appear liver changes. We should stop the treatment or to have lower doses when there is too frequent or too long erection.
